Oh, hi there, I wasn't expecting you. No, no, I'm glad you're here. Please come in and make yourself at home. I'm V.S. Chin, author of Dragon Girl, a children's book released in August 2009. Here's an interesting bit of news about the book ... on June 19, it earned the 2010 Georgia Author of the Year Award (GAYA) in the children's mid-reader category. Almost 200 people attended the 46th annual awards ceremony held at Kennesaw State University Center. Steve Goss, host of Morning Edition for Public Broadcasting (WABE 90.1 in Atlanta), was the host of the ceremony.
Presented by the Georgia Writers Association, the GAYA is considered to be the oldest literary award in the Southeast and has been awarded to such notables as Terry Kay, John Lewis, and Jimmy Carter. Last year's nominees included Max Cleland and Steve Berry (though not in my category!). Have questions about my book? Check out my FAQ Library. If you have a question I haven't answered, feel free to e-mail me at vschin@yahoo.com.
Want to know a little about me? Well, I live in Atlanta, Georgia. When I'm not working as a marketing professional or writing interactive novels, I spend my time caring for my adopted and foster dogs and volunteering with a local dog rescue organization (check out "The Dog House" for pictures of all my fur babies). My life, quite literally, has gone to the dogs.
